The Great Fen Vision

The Wildlife Trust, Huntingdonshire Local Group, is pleased to present a review of the Great Fen Wetland Project. This will take place on Wednesday 8th September 2010 at 7.30pm at Brampton Memorial Hall, Thrapston Road, Brampton, following a brief AGM.

Emma Pollard, who is the Interpretation and Community Officer for the Wildlife Trust, will tell us about this exciting habitat restoration project, which will create a 3,700 hectare wetland between Huntingdon and Peterborough. The two existing nature reserves at Holme Fen and Woodwalton Fen will be connected and provide a haven for wildlife. This site includes Whittlesey Mere, England’s largest lowland lake which was originally drained for agriculture in the mid 1800s.

Anyone interested in wildlife is most welcome to attend. Admission: £2.00 members; £2.50 non-members. Please visit the web site for more information www.wildlifetrust-huntsareagroup.org.uk/ or phone George on 01480 450809.

We hold indoor meetings, which are held monthly on the second Wednesday of the month, in the evening at 19.30 from September to March. The venue is the Memorial Centre on Thrapston Road, Brampton. Entrance is £2 for Wildlife Trust members; £2.50 non-members.
